Originally I was very leery to use an e-collar.  After taking the time to receive the proper training, it gave me a better understanding and perception of the tool.  When working with professionals, such as our trainer, we have learned how to properly and effectively use this tool. Our e-collar has been extremely helpful in teaching our dog appropriate behaviors in unfamiliar situations.  When has a job to do and feels confident, he is a happy boy!

My e-collar has saved my dogs lives numerous times. For example, my dogs and I were out hiking two hours away from civilization. My shepherd was circling a tree looking for a lizard. Suddenly, a massive rattlesnake fell to the ground. I was able to quickly correct him to break him out of that prey drive state and get him recalled to me. There’s no way the treats I had in my pocket would have won him over in that moment. Without the e-collar, we would have been in big trouble and my dog could have possibly died. While it may have been uncomfortable for him in that moment, it saved his life. I recommend the collar to individuals who want to give their dogs off leash time while still prioritizing their safety.

My dog became reactive after many biting incidents he had while he was a puppy. All I can say is: WHY didn't I do this sooner?! Fear of hurting my dogs, I suppose. But that fear is disproven. What an amazing tool for teaching dogs boundaries at a distance! The adjustable shock feature is great, and is 100% successful at deterring attention. Within a few sessions use, behaviors I was struggling to correct were calmly in hand, and are continuing to improve even with no collar on. I work in a fear-free veterinary practice, which of course promotes positive reinforcement training. While that has a lot of merits, a treat in my hand means nothing to my dog at 100 yards, but a buzz on their neck sure does.

I  thought e-collars were straight up shock collars and painful for the dog. Then, when I started struggling with my dog using only positive reinforcement, I started branching out and watching more balanced trainers videos and learning everything I could. We are only in our first week of using the e-collar so far but wow - results!! Huge fan now. Once I learned what they actually are and how they work, I’ll never go back!

We adopted Freckles a little over a y​‌ear ago​‌ and we discovered that our boy had some issues with anxiety. We contacted a dog trainer as his behavior was more difficult than we expected. I love my boy - but it was frustrating. Training was okay - but my very smart, stubborn boy was making things still difficult. So we got an e-collar and had the proper training for it and it made a huge difference from the beginning. He began to really listen and respond to all commands. We go on pack walks with other dogs and he loves it.  He is happier and so am I. I cannot say enough good things. He is happy and very loved and now he has many skills that he would not have if he had not had the e-collar.  In one sentence - THE E-COLLAR IMPROVED LIFE FOR BOTH OF US!!!

Thanks to my electronic pet fence, my dogs are getting the outdoor activity they yearn for during this snowiest of winters. Since I am blind it is difficult to take my dogs outdoors to play off leash. If I over throw the toy they may run into the road to retrieve it. And no matter how well trained my dogs may be it only takes one time to get hit by a car. It’s wonderful to have the freedom to be outdoors with my dogs off leash and not worry about them going into the road. It has had no negative effects on my guide dog’s work abilities.
